Sandhill Consultants realize that organizations DBA’s, BA’s and Data Modelers are struggling to apply modeling techniques that effectively translate business requirements into actionable, performance oriented solutions, that meet the information and timely needs of their business users. Often furnished with one of the Kimball or Inmon’s big books and a pat on the back as the toolkit to build solutions, warehouse and data mart developers , modelers and DBA's are left without an methodology or approach in starting these types of projects.

By the time students finish this one day workshop they will be able to understand and answer questions such as why Dimensional modeling is different from Data Modeling, and how should companies apply Dimensional Modeling techniques in developing modeling solutions

Please mark your calendars:  We are starting to accept registration for this event which will be held at a conference facility  at one of our clients training sites: BNSF Technology Services, 2400 Western Center Blvd, Fort Worth, TX, 76131.  On Friday, the 5th of February, 2010.  Registration and light breakfast start at 8:30 with the workshop starting at 9:00 am going to 4:30 pm.  Lunch will also be provided. Please note that parking and entering will be on the west side of the building, where a sign on the door that enters into the Conference Center.  

This workshop is the first in a series of classes that will teach students not only the fundamentals of Dimensional Modeling for building effective Data Warehousing, but allow students to progress to the next level where they will also learn the skills necessary to analyzes, design, develop and implement a Dimensional Model from re-stated business requirements. This workshop provides the concepts  necessary to understand what a Dimensional Model is and how it all ties in with various OLAP implementation styles.

Normally Sandhill charges $500 per person for this one day class, but we are offering thisfree to key clients that are interested in learning more about Dimensional Modeling Concepts for Data Warehousing.

Students will learn how to approach Dimensional Modeling for Data Warehousing, by leveraging a combination of case studies, and successive labs on how to analysis the problem from the beginning and beak it down into the following series of easy to understand steps.

• Part 3 – Understanding how a Dimensional model grows in complexity
