Frequently asked questions
What exactly is DMPEP?
DMPEP, the Data Management Policy and Education Program, packages what an enterprise data management program needs to get started: 12 policies with 201 policy statements and 238 standards, plus 32 role-based courses totaling 78 instructional hours. Aligned to DCAM and the DMBoK, it is ready to put into service as soon as it’s delivered.
Which policy areas does DMPEP cover?
The suite is organized into three domains (governance and leadership, operations and architecture, and risk and quality control) that together address everything from data strategy and ethics to metadata, master data, privacy, security, and analytics reporting. Every policy is fully written, so your team adapts and approves instead of drafting from scratch.
Who in our organization is the training designed for?
Anyone whose job involves organizational data, from frontline staff and contractors to the leaders who run the data program. The tiers in between cover managers, Data Owners and Stewards, and data management specialists, so each group learns at the depth its role requires.
How is the curriculum delivered to our learning management system?
Both SCORM 1.2 and cmi5 versions of the full curriculum are provided, so it loads into today’s learning management systems. Your LMS team also receives an administrator’s guide and a syllabus for each course, and a configuration utility adds your organization’s branding and internal terms throughout.
Why pair policies with training instead of choosing one?
Frameworks describe good practice and policies make it mandatory, but behavior changes only when employees know what’s expected and how to carry it out. Role-based education supplies that missing piece. A program built on a framework alone produces structure on paper, not change in how people work.
How does DMPEP support AI readiness?
AI models learn from and draw on your data, so gaps in data governance become gaps in AI governance. A handful of trained champions can’t carry a program at the speed and scale AI demands. That takes policies embedded across the organization and a workforce trained to follow them, which is the capability DMPEP is built to create.
