Data Management Maturity

E-Learning Course: Data Management Maturity

How can you evaluate if your organization is managing its data assets effectively? What are the core capabilities that you need to implement to solve present data issues and develop a clear path to improve the data layer, operationalize data governance, and improve the data quality? How do you inform and convince your staff that sound practices benefit their business goals as well as the overall organization?

This course answers these questions. It presents clear explanations of ‘enterprise data,’ the data management program, and all the fundamental disciplines that support the journey to optimized data assets. It distinguishes data governance and data management organization, describing the key responsibilities and how both elements are critical to managing data effectively. For each of the 25 data management capabilities addressed, the course views them from an implementation standpoint – why should the organization establish policies and processes, what obstacles are commonly encountered, and how to overcome them?

The intended audience is staff members with data-related roles, from junior analysts to senior business managers, as well as data stewards, subject-matter experts, IT project managers, database development staff, analytics teams, and data repository (i.e., data lake, data warehouse, master data) program managers.

The course is 70 minutes in length. It is excellent preparation for launching or expanding data governance, preparing for a data management assessment, and assisting the entire organization to understand data maturity and its component capabilities. When an individual completes this course, their understanding of why data management is essential will be broadened and deepened, and their participation in data-related efforts will be easier to obtain.
