The Building Enterprise Data Management Capabilities course provides a comprehensive education in fundamental data management concepts and practices, addressing core capabilities needed for an organization to be successful in managing its critical data. Building EDM Capabilities empowers the student to:

The class encourages collaboration and a thorough understanding of how students can be actively engaged in building, improving, and sustaining the organization’s data assets. They learn practical skills to build the know-how and confidence to be an active participant in data governance tasks and be able to immediately apply the knowledge gained to data-related work.

The course format includes lectures, discussions, quizzes, handouts, templates, and individual, team, and group exercises, applying data management practices to implementation plans and tasks. Students benefit from extensive real-world examples of approaches, achievements, and overcoming challenges, drawn from many industries and organizations.

No prior knowledge of data management is required.  Our attendees are typically drawn from the following roles: Business data experts and data stewards, business and IT program leaders, data management professionals, IT data professionals, and risk, audit, and privacy staff.
